Autonomous photo discovery for Windsurf

Cascade uses `search_photos` and `get_recent_photos` to find imagery without manual browser jumping. It pulls metadata directly into your current project context. This MCP Server lets you script visual assets into your UI components. You define the search parameters, and the agent handles the rest.

Deep dive into Flickr metadata via Windsurf

Get the technical specs for any shot using `get_photo_info`. It reveals technical details that help you build accurate image-heavy applications. You can also run `get_hot_tags` to see what's trending. This keeps your project aligned with current visual movements.

Manage user galleries within Windsurf

Use `get_user_albums` to list collections and `get_album_photos` to grab specific sets. It simplifies how you import gallery data into your apps. Your agent can query `get_user_popular_tags` for a specific creator. This maps out exactly what content defines their portfolio.

Setup guide

Set up Flickr MCP in Windsurf

Prerequisites

  • Windsurf IDE installed (macOS, Windows, or Linux)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Open MCP configuration

Click the Cascade assistant icon in the sidebar, then click the hammer icon (🔨) at the top of the panel. Select "Configure" to open ~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json.

  2. 2

    Add the Flickr MCP

Paste the JSON snippet shown on the right into the mcpServers object. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your endpoint token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Refresh MCPs

Go back to the hammer icon (🔨) in Cascade and click "Refresh". Windsurf will detect the new server. No full restart is needed — the connection is hot-reloaded.

  4. 4

    Verify in Cascade

Start a new Cascade conversation and ask something like "Show my Flickr payment history." If connected, Cascade will call the Flickr tools directly. You will see a green dot next to the server name in the MCP panel.
