Build real auth code with Cursor and this MCP Server

The `get_user` tool pulls real profiles from your FusionAuth instance so you can write accurate code in Cursor. This means your TypeScript types and database schemas match your production identity provider exactly. The agent uses the live response from `get_application` to write integration code that works on the first run.

Test login flows directly inside your editor

The `login` tool simulates active user sessions to help you test authentication middleware directly in your editor. If your code needs to handle token expiration, have the agent call `refresh_jwt` to test the refresh cycle. You write and debug your middleware without constantly switching to an external browser window.

Configure lambdas and webhooks inline

The `create_lambda` tool uploads your custom JavaScript mapping functions directly to your FusionAuth server using this MCP configuration. You can also test webhook payloads by calling `get_webhook` and having the editor mock the incoming events. This keeps your entire identity configuration synchronized with your codebase.

Common questions about FusionAuth (Enterprise Identity & Auth) MCP in Cursor

Create an `.cursor/mcp.json` file in your project root. Add the MCP server under the configuration key with your FusionAuth credentials, then enable Agent mode in the chat panel.
Yes, Cursor uses tools like `get_user` and `list_applications` to fetch real payloads from your instance. It then uses those exact JSON structures to write accurate integration code.
Your agent can call `get_webhook` to pull your current configuration. It can then generate mock payloads based on that data, allowing you to debug your local endpoint inside the editor.
Yes, the agent can call `create_api_key` to provision keys with specific scopes. You should restrict the agent's permissions if you want to prevent it from generating admin-level keys.
All credentials and password hashes remain isolated within your local `.cursor/mcp.json` file and your secure FusionAuth instance. The MCP bridge never exposes raw user credentials to external storage, ensuring your identity store remains compliant.
