…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect GitBook MCP to Cline
Create your Vinkius account to connect GitBook to Cline and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Pull live page content directly into VS Code
The `get_page` tool fetches the raw text and structure of any GitBook page directly into your editor. Cline reads this markdown, understands your internal libraries, and writes code that matches your actual setup. No more copying and pasting API keys or installation steps from your browser into VS Code. Instead, Cline pulls the exact details it needs, checks the formatting, and applies the logic to your workspace.
Run deep documentation searches via Cline
The `search_content` tool lets Cline search your entire GitBook knowledge base for specific terms or error codes. Running the search query grabs the most relevant pages and uses that context to debug issues in your current VS Code file. It saves you from hunting through browser tabs when a local build fails. Cline finds the troubleshooting guide, reads the resolution steps, and applies the fix automatically to your code.
Explore your documentation layout with this MCP Server
The `list_spaces` tool queries your organization to find all active GitBook documentation workspaces. Cline uses this to discover where your technical guides, API specs, and internal runbooks are stored. You can tell the agent to audit your entire layout using this MCP server, and it will point out empty pages inside VS Code. This couples with `list_pages` to build a clean local map of your documentation.
