How to Use the GlobalGiving MCP in Cursor
Inject live nonprofit data into your codebase using the GlobalGiving MCP Server in Cursor.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect GlobalGiving MCP to Cursor
Create your Vinkius account to connect GlobalGiving to Cursor and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Coding with live GlobalGiving data
Use Cursor's Agent mode to fetch nonprofit data while you write code. By calling `search_nonprofit_projects`, your agent injects real-world data into your logic instead of using hardcoded mock values. It makes your development process faster since the AI handles the API communication while you focus on the implementation.
Automated project filtering
Stop manual searching when you need to categorize initiatives. Your Cursor editor can trigger `list_projects_by_theme` to organize charity data by sector automatically. It turns your editor into an analytical tool that pulls project lists based on your specific coding requirements.
Verified API integration
Always check your connection before starting a build. The `verify_api_connection` tool ensures your Cursor environment is talking to the GlobalGiving servers correctly. This prevents runtime errors and keeps your development session focused on building features rather than debugging connectivity.
