End-to-end product data ingestion

Cline takes a barcode and finishes the job. It executes `get_product_by_code`, formats the output into your required schema, and stages the commit for your review. This removes the manual copy-paste loop. You define the target file, and the agent fills it with verified data.

Category and brand mapping in Cline

Use your agent to reconcile your internal taxonomy with external data. It calls `get_category_details` and `get_brand_details` to fetch the missing pieces of your product descriptions. Cline updates your config files based on these responses. It keeps your catalog accurate without you touching a single JSON blob.

Integrated API status checks

Cline treats `check_api_status` as a prerequisite for any data-heavy task. It validates the upstream connection before it attempts to process your barcode lists. This prevents runtime errors during large imports. If the service is down, the agent notifies you before it wastes your time.

Common questions about Go-UPC MCP in Cline

Yes, Cline can read the output of `get_product_by_code` and write it to your local files. It handles the parsing and formatting in one go.
Just ask the agent to search for a name or code. It will pick the correct tool, `search_products` or `get_product_by_code`, to get the data you need.
Run a quick status check by asking Cline to execute `check_api_status`. If it returns a success message, your connection is ready for production work.
The server returns standard error codes. Cline will catch these exceptions and ask you how to proceed rather than crashing the task.
Your barcode queries are transient requests. The server does not store your search history, and it only processes the specific UPC codes you provide during active tasks.
