Debate Google Analytics trends between specialized agents

Assign a data-analyst agent to call `run_report` while a strategy agent critiques the results. They discuss the findings in real-time, ensuring the interpretation of your traffic data is rigorous. You get a synthesized conclusion rather than just a raw data dump. The agents negotiate based on the actual numbers returned by the API.

Flag funnel drop-offs with multi-agent verification

Use `run_funnel_report` to gather conversion data, then have your agents verify the steps. One agent identifies the drop-off point while another checks if the funnel definition is still valid. It removes human bias from the analysis. The agents agree on the problem before suggesting a fix based on the data.

Manage audience exports via agent negotiation

Call `list_audience_exports` and `get_audience_export` to see which jobs are active. Your agents can then decide which audience lists are ready for activation based on their status. It keeps your marketing pipeline moving without manual oversight. The agents confirm the job status before pushing the data to the next step.

Setup guide

Set up Google Analytics MCP in AutoGen

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • autogen-ext[mcp] package
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install AutoGen with MCP

    Run pip install "autogen-ext[mcp]" autogen-agentchat. The MCP extension includes mcp_server_tools for stateless tool access.

  2. 2

    Fetch tools from the MCP

    Call mcp_server_tools(SseServerParams(url=...)) with your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Run your agent

    Pass the tools to AssistantAgent and call agent.run(). The agent invokes Google Analytics tools and returns structured results.

agent.py
from autogen_ext.tools.mcp import SseServerParams, mcp_server_tools
from autogen_agentchat.agents import AssistantAgent
from autogen_ext.models.openai import OpenAIChatCompletionClient

server_params = SseServerParams(
    url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
)

tools = await mcp_server_tools(server_params)

agent = AssistantAgent(
    name="Google Analytics_assistant",
    model_client=OpenAIChatCompletionClient(model="gpt-4o"),
    tools=tools,
)

result = await agent.run("List recent Google Analytics data")
print(result.messages[-1].content)

Common questions about Google Analytics MCP in AutoGen

Agents pass the output of tools like `run_report` through the conversation history. Because it is an MCP server, every agent has direct access to the same tool definitions.
They can. If one agent finds a metric anomaly, another agent can call `get_metadata` to verify the definition. They debate until they find a consensus on the data's meaning.
It does. You pass the tool registry to the `AssistantAgent`. Each agent in your AutoGen group can then invoke the GA4 tools as needed for their specific role.
You map the server to the `McpToolAdapter`. This exposes all 12 tools to the agent pool, allowing any agent with the right permissions to query your properties.
The server enforces strict endpoint authentication. Only agents with the required token can access your GA4 properties, and all data interactions are logged by the server.
