Terminal-Based Silo Monitoring

Run `get_current_temperature` directly from your shell to check grain mass status. Claude Code pipes this output into your scripts or CI/CD logs for automated reporting. You can query multiple sensor zones at once to get a full temperature profile. The data comes back as structured JSON, perfect for ingestion into your existing monitoring stack.

Headless Alert Handling

Integrate `get_alerts` into your cron jobs or background tasks. Claude Code polls the server for critical warnings, allowing you to trigger external notifications or system shutdowns. The agent filters by severity, so you only react to critical events. It ignores info-level logs unless you specifically ask it to scan for them.

Efficient Data Retrieval

Use `get_silos` to generate a list of IDs for batch processing. You can then loop through these IDs to call `get_silo_details` for every silo in your facility. This approach lets you build custom dashboards or health reports using standard command-line tools. Claude Code manages the authentication token, so you only focus on the logic.

Setup guide

Set up Grain Watch MCP in Claude Code

Prerequisites

  • Claude Code CLI installed (npm install -g @anthropic-ai/claude-code)

Common questions about Grain Watch MCP in Claude Code

Yes, you add it via the command line using the claude mcp add command. It supports the standard HTTP transport required for terminal-based agents.
It does. You can call `get_temperature_history` to pull 30-day trends. Claude Code then processes this data to identify heating patterns in your grain.
After connecting, run the internal help commands. The agent discovers the 12 available tools, including `get_sensor_health` and humidity tracking, automatically.
You pass the silo ID as an argument to `get_alerts`. The MCP Server returns the specific warnings for that unit directly to your terminal window.
Vinkius handles the auth token for your Claude Code instance. The server only transmits temperature and humidity values over an encrypted, ephemeral link.
