Connect Greptile MCP to Cline
Create your Vinkius account to connect Greptile to Cline and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Execute end-to-end code changes with Cline
The `query_codebase` tool answers complex architectural questions to give Cline a starting point for code generation. Cline takes those answers, locates the files, and writes the necessary code changes directly to your local workspace. You do not need to copy-paste context. The agent reads the codebase, writes the implementation, and runs your local test suite to verify the changes work.
Manage codebase indexing from VS Code
The `index_repository` tool registers new repositories for remote analysis directly from the sidebar. Cline monitors the progress through this MCP Server with `get_repository_status` and starts writing code the moment the index is ready. If you make massive local changes, you can tell the agent to trigger `reindex_repository`. This keeps the remote representation of your codebase accurate without leaving your editor.
Locate code patterns instantly
The `search_codebase` tool scans your entire repository for specific code patterns, functions, or variable names. Cline uses these search results to map out dependencies before editing any files. This prevents the agent from breaking dependent modules during refactoring. It provides a safe way to execute large-scale changes across multiple directories.
