How to Use the Guru MCP in Google ADK
Connect Google ADK to your Guru wiki for deep context reasoning using long-context Gemini models.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Guru MCP to Google ADK
Create your Vinkius account to connect Guru to Google ADK and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Deep knowledge retrieval for Google ADK
Gemini models handle massive contexts, and this server feeds them the right data. Use `search_knowledge_base` to pull board content directly into your agent's reasoning loop. It turns your wiki into a native data source for Google ADK. The agent reads through existing knowledge to make informed decisions without needing extra training.
Organize your wiki from Google ADK
Map your entire taxonomy using `list_knowledge_boards` and `list_knowledge_collections`. It provides a clear view of how your information is structured. Your agent uses this metadata to find the right collection for every new card. It keeps your workspace clean and searchable as your data grows.
Write and edit content with Google ADK
Your agent manages your knowledge lifecycle with `create_knowledge_card` and `delete_knowledge_card`. It handles the busy work of documentation. Everything is logged through the API. You can trust your agent to update cards when project requirements change on the fly.
Set up Guru MCP in Google ADK
Prerequisites
- Python 3.10+ installed
-
google-adkpackage (pip install google-adk) - Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
- 1
Install Google ADK
Run
pip install google-adkto install the Agent Development Kit. MCP support is included via theMcpToolsetclass. - 2
Connect via SSE transport
Use
McpToolset.from_server()withSseServerParamspointing to your Vinkius endpoint. Replace[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]with your token from cloud.vinkius.com. - 3
Create an LlmAgent
Pass the returned
mcp_toolslist directly toLlmAgent(tools=mcp_tools). The ADK maps each MCP tool to a native Gemini function call — no manual schema definitions required. - 4
Run with any Gemini model
The agent works with any Gemini model (
gemini-2.0-flash,gemini-2.5-pro, etc.). Copy the full example on the right to get started with Guru tools in your ADK agent.
from google.adk.agents import LlmAgent
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_toolset import McpToolset
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_session_manager import SseServerParams
# Connect to the MCP via SSE
mcp_tools, exit_stack = await McpToolset.from_server(
connection_params=SseServerParams(
url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
)
)
# Create your agent with auto-discovered tools
agent = LlmAgent(
name="Guru_agent",
model="gemini-2.0-flash",
instruction="You have access to Guru tools via MCP.",
tools=mcp_tools,
