Fetch trending tech headlines in Windsurf
Cascade calls `top_stories` to pull the current front page into your IDE. It grabs the list of active IDs so you can see what the industry is actually discussing. You avoid the browser entirely. Your AI client parses the feed and presents the relevant titles directly in your chat window.
Scan the newest submissions instantly
Use `new_stories` when you need to track fresh project launches or breaking API changes. Cascade monitors the stream so you don't miss early-stage discourse. This keeps your research loop tight. You get the raw data as soon as it hits the server, bypassing the lag of manual curation.
Read deep comment threads via MCP Server
The `get_item` tool pulls the full content of any story or comment. It transforms messy HTML into clean Markdown that Windsurf reads natively. Cascade handles the recursive fetching for you. You get the full context of a technical debate without leaving your coding environment.
