How to Use the Help Scout MCP in Cline
Let Cline build internal tools and dashboards using your live Help Scout data, right inside VS Code.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Help Scout MCP to Cline
Create your Vinkius account to connect Help Scout to Cline and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Pull Live Support Data into Code
Tell Cline to build a component that shows active tickets. It will use the `list_conversations` tool, get the live data from your Help Scout account, and generate the code for you. No more dealing with API docs and test requests. You get a working file, ready to commit. Cline can also use `search_conversations` to grab a specific subset of tickets, or `get_customer` to pull profile data for a component. It writes the code that makes the API calls.
Automate Ticket Management with Cline
You can give Cline operational tasks. For example, "Find all conversations tagged 'spam-report' and close them." Cline understands the goal. It executes the plan: run `search_conversations` to get a list of IDs, then loop through each one and call `update_convo_status` to set them to 'closed'. It will show you the diff before committing, so you're always in control of your MCP agent.
Build Dashboards with this MCP Server
This MCP server is perfect for building internal dashboards. Ask Cline to "create a dashboard showing our latest customer satisfaction scores." Cline will use `list_customer_ratings` to fetch the data and then generate the HTML and JavaScript to display it. It can also pull in agent names with `list_staff_users` to show performance metrics.
