Consensus-Based Registration

Set up an agent to propose attendee registrations using `add_attendee` while another agent reviews for policy compliance. They negotiate the registration details before any change hits the system. This prevents errors in your event records. You ensure every attendee is added with the correct ticket type and status.

Deliberative Event Updates

Use your agent team to debate changes to event schedules via `update_event`. One agent pushes for an update while another checks `list_talks` to ensure no scheduling conflicts exist. This multi-agent approach catches issues early. You get a verified update process that keeps your summit schedule tight and logical.

Cross-Referenced Speaker Management

Assign agents to cross-reference speaker data from `get_speaker` against your internal requirements. They debate the feasibility of speaker participation and converge on a final decision. This process adds a layer of human-like judgment to your speaker management. Your agents ensure that every talk is properly attributed and scheduled.

Setup guide

Set up HeySummit MCP in AutoGen

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • autogen-ext[mcp] package
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install AutoGen with MCP

    Run pip install "autogen-ext[mcp]" autogen-agentchat. The MCP extension includes mcp_server_tools for stateless tool access.

  2. 2

    Fetch tools from the MCP

    Call mcp_server_tools(SseServerParams(url=...)) with your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Run your agent

    Pass the tools to AssistantAgent and call agent.run(). The agent invokes HeySummit tools and returns structured results.

agent.py
from autogen_ext.tools.mcp import SseServerParams, mcp_server_tools
from autogen_agentchat.agents import AssistantAgent
from autogen_ext.models.openai import OpenAIChatCompletionClient

server_params = SseServerParams(
    url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
)

tools = await mcp_server_tools(server_params)

agent = AssistantAgent(
    name="HeySummit_assistant",
    model_client=OpenAIChatCompletionClient(model="gpt-4o"),
    tools=tools,
)

result = await agent.run("List recent HeySummit data")
print(result.messages[-1].content)

Common questions about HeySummit MCP in AutoGen

You pass the server tools to the AssistantAgent constructor. The McpToolAdapter handles the communication, allowing agents to call functions like `get_me` or `list_tickets` during their conversation.
Yes, you configure the server once and provide the tool list to your agent team. They share access to the same HeySummit environment, allowing for collaborative work.
The data is handled within the memory of your agents. You control the scope of what information is shared between the security and performance agents during their negotiation.
You define the rules for agent behavior in your system prompt. You can force agents to consult each other before executing a write operation like `update_event`.
The server manages the connection via your endpoint token. Your agents just focus on the task, and the adapter handles the underlying protocol for every tool call.
