How to Use the HireVue MCP in VS Code Copilot
Give your entire engineering team access to HireVue. VS Code Copilot manages candidates and job data right from the editor.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect HireVue MCP to VS Code Copilot
Create your Vinkius account to connect HireVue to VS Code Copilot and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Share context across teams
The HireVue MCP Server gives your entire engineering team shared context for HR integrations. A developer asks Copilot for the latest job listings, and the agent runs `list_positions` to return the active board. When someone needs the exact requirements for a new role, they just ask their AI client. Copilot triggers `get_position` and formats the details into a markdown table. Your team stays aligned without sharing login credentials.
Generate test applicants
Generating dummy applicants with `create_candidate` lets developers test internal portals instantly. A developer can ask Copilot to push a test record to your sandbox environment. You can also test state changes instantly. The agent runs `update_candidate` to move the test profile to the next hiring stage. Then it calls `get_candidate` to prove the API accepted the new status.
Mock interview routing
Routing video interview links requires `create_interview` to test actual URLs in your local environment. Copilot helps you build this by generating real links on the fly. You never have to leave VS Code to clean up your test data. Copilot checks the appointment with `get_interview`, then destroys it using `cancel_interview`. This MCP Server keeps your workflow entirely inside the IDE.
