How to Use the Hootsuite MCP in Cline
Tell Cline to manage your Hootsuite presence. It'll write the code, schedule the posts, and show you the diff, all inside VS Code.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Hootsuite MCP to Cline
Create your Vinkius account to connect Hootsuite to Cline and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Generate Social Publishing Scripts
Tell Cline, "Build a script to post our daily update to all active social accounts." Cline doesn't just give you code snippets; it creates the actual, runnable file in your workspace. It will use `list_social_profiles` to fetch the account IDs your script needs, structure a call to `create_message`, and write the file. You go from a simple prompt to a working tool in seconds.
End-to-End Content Management with Cline
This Hootsuite MCP server lets Cline handle the full social media workflow. Give it a text file and a target time, and it will do the rest. Cline reads the file, prepares the payload for `create_message`, and schedules it. If you need to include an image, it automatically handles the `create_media_upload` step first. It's true end-to-end execution, not just code completion.
Code Your Own Hootsuite Audit Tools
You can ask Cline to build internal tools for you. For example, "Create a React component that shows all scheduled posts for this week." Cline will use the `list_outbound_messages` tool to fetch the data, then generate the component code to display it. It connects the live API data to a real UI, which is something most agents can't do.
