Script spatial data pipelines in Claude Code
This MCP server exposes the HUD User USPS Crosswalk API directly to your terminal environment. You trigger Claude Code from a shell script to read a massive CSV of customer records and pipe the output through `zip_to_tract` to append federal Census identifiers. It works entirely headless. Set up a cron job that feeds daily postal updates to the agent, which then runs `tract_to_zip` to keep your internal spatial databases synchronized with the latest federal boundaries.
Automate CBSA and county updates
Stop manually downloading quarter-end geographic mapping files. Your CI/CD pipeline commands the agent to use `zip_to_cbsa` and `zip_to_county` to validate whether local branches fall into new Core Based Statistical Areas. If a metropolitan boundary shifts, the agent detects it. It runs `cbsa_to_zip` or `county_to_zip` to pull the new postal definitions and automatically commits the updated mapping JSON to your repository.
Process congressional districts via CLI
Command-line data processing requires fast, reliable conversions. Claude Code uses `zip_to_cd` to tag voter registration dumps with their respective Congressional Districts before loading them into your production database. Reverse lookups are just as simple. The agent executes `cd_to_zip` to extract all postal routes for a specific district and pipes that array directly into your outbound mailing scripts.
