Run automated market checks from the terminal

Claude Code uses `get_market_list` and `get_stock_quote` to fetch active gainers, losers, and specific equity prices directly into your terminal. Claude Code calls these IEX Cloud tools to output raw JSON that you can pipe into other CLI utilities. This terminal setup works perfectly when you need Claude Code to run cron jobs with IEX Cloud data. You get raw data outputs without launching a heavy GUI interface.

Inspect corporate financials using this MCP Server

This server lets Claude Code query `get_stock_financials` and `get_stock_stats` to pull balance sheets and key metrics into your command-line session. Claude Code processes these large IEX Cloud data payloads to answer complex queries about debt ratios on the fly. If you need historical context, Claude Code calls `get_stock_chart` to fetch historical price arrays from IEX Cloud. Running these terminal commands directly in your SSH session keeps your workspace clean.

Query global macro indicators in Claude Code

Claude Code uses `get_fx_latest` and `get_treasury_yield` to monitor foreign exchange rates and federal bond yields inside your terminal. Claude Code pulls these IEX Cloud figures to let you build quick scripts that calculate currency conversions. You can also have Claude Code inspect `get_crypto_quote` to track digital assets using IEX Cloud data. This terminal consolidation makes it easy to monitor multiple asset classes inside a single CLI environment.

Common questions about IEX Cloud MCP in Claude Code

Run the command `claude mcp add --transport http iex-cloud-mcp -- ` in your terminal. This saves the configuration to your local `~/.claude.json` file and connects the endpoints instantly.
Yes, you can ask Claude Code to fetch data using `get_stock_quote` and output it as raw JSON. You can then pipe that terminal output directly into tools like jq, grep, or custom python scripts.
When you prompt the CLI, Claude Code resolves the request by invoking the correct tool, such as `get_stock_financials`. It runs the request headlessly, processes the API response, and prints the clean text result to stdout.
Yes, this MCP Server lets you call the `get_upcoming_earnings` tool to retrieve the calendar of upcoming releases. Claude Code can fetch this list and format it as a markdown table or text file directly in your working directory.
Your connection is secured via a single Vinkius endpoint token, meaning you never expose raw credentials in your terminal history. All queries for stock charts, financials, and crypto quotes are executed in a zero-trust, ephemeral sandbox.
