Audit repository records via Google ADK

The `ironclad_list_records` tool retrieves fully executed agreements directly from your contract repository. Your Google ADK agent pulls this structured metadata—including counterparty names, effective dates, and total values—to feed your enterprise data analysis pipelines. By loading this contract data into Gemini's long-context window, your agent can cross-reference active contract terms with BigQuery tables. It uses `ironclad_get_record` to extract deep compliance details, identifying discrepancies across thousands of archived legal documents in seconds.

Monitor active contract pipelines

The `ironclad_list_workflows` tool lists every active contract moving through drafting, approval, and signature stages using this MCP integration. Your agent monitors this pipeline to detect bottlenecks before they delay critical business operations. When a specific agreement stalls, the agent invokes `ironclad_get_workflow` to inspect the exact step, assigned reviewers, and timeline. This lets Google ADK trigger automated alerts in your internal communication channels, pointing out exactly who needs to act next.

Query agreements using natural language

The `ironclad_search_records` tool searches your entire legal repository using keywords, names, or specific metadata attributes. Your agent uses this tool to find relevant historical agreements whenever a user asks a complex contract question. Once the correct file is located, the agent runs `ironclad_get_comments` to pull the historical discussion logs and negotiation notes. This provides your Google ADK agent with the full context behind specific contract edits, making legal handoffs simpler.

Setup guide

Set up Ironclad MCP in Google ADK

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • google-adk package (pip install google-adk)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install Google ADK

    Run pip install google-adk to install the Agent Development Kit. MCP support is included via the McpToolset class.

  2. 2

    Connect via SSE transport

    Use McpToolset.from_server() with SseServerParams pointing to your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Create an LlmAgent

    Pass the returned mcp_tools list directly to LlmAgent(tools=mcp_tools). The ADK maps each MCP tool to a native Gemini function call — no manual schema definitions required.

  4. 4

    Run with any Gemini model

    The agent works with any Gemini model (gemini-2.0-flash, gemini-2.5-pro, etc.). Copy the full example on the right to get started with Ironclad tools in your ADK agent.

agent.py
from google.adk.agents import LlmAgent
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_toolset import McpToolset
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_session_manager import SseServerParams

# Connect to the MCP via SSE
mcp_tools, exit_stack = await McpToolset.from_server(
    connection_params=SseServerParams(
        url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
    )
)

# Create your agent with auto-discovered tools
agent = LlmAgent(
    name="Ironclad_agent",
    model="gemini-2.0-flash",
    instruction="You have access to Ironclad tools via MCP.",
    tools=mcp_tools,
)

Common questions about Ironclad MCP in Google ADK

Yes, you can use the `tool_names` filter in the Google ADK configuration. This limits the agent to specific operations, like reading records, while blocking execution tools.
The agent calls `ironclad_launch_workflow` with the required schema fields. It pulls these fields from template definitions fetched via `ironclad_list_templates`.
Install the package using `pip install google-adk`. Then, initialize `McpToolset` with your Vinkius HTTP transport URL and pass it to your `LlmAgent` tools array to enable direct tool execution.
The Google ADK agent can ingest massive lists of active agreements retrieved via `ironclad_list_workflows`. Because Gemini handles huge token limits, it can analyze entire contract pipelines in a single reasoning pass.
Your data remains within Ironclad and your Google Cloud perimeter. The Vinkius MCP Server operates inside an ephemeral sandbox, passing comments and metadata directly to your client without caching or storing any sensitive corporate files.
