How to Use the JumpCloud MCP in Cursor
Feed live JumpCloud system and user directory data directly into Cursor's AI agent as you write admin scripts.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect JumpCloud MCP to Cursor
Create your Vinkius account to connect JumpCloud to Cursor and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Generate scripts using real JumpCloud system data
The `list_systems` tool feeds live hostnames, OS versions, and hardware IDs directly into your Cursor composer. This lets the editor write deployment scripts based on your actual fleet instead of placeholder data. You can verify your target machines by running `list_system_groups` to isolate specific device cohorts. Cursor injects these exact group names into your code, eliminating typos in your automation scripts.
Audit user permissions inside Cursor
This MCP Server lets you run `list_users` to pull active account statuses directly into your workspace. Your editor's agent analyzes the returned JSON to find inactive accounts or missing security configurations. Combine this with `get_user` to inspect detailed group memberships and security settings for any individual. You write your offboarding or provisioning logic with real-time directory state as your reference.
Map network and policy configurations
Run `list_networks` and `list_policies` to pull RADIUS settings and device security rules into your active coding context. You get immediate access to your live firewall and encryption baselines. Use `list_applications` to cross-reference your SSO integrations against your active directories. Cursor reads these configurations to help you write precise API integration code without leaving your MCP client.
