Consensus-driven IAM management

Deploy multiple agents to debate changes before calling `update_client` or `delete_user`. One agent can act as a security auditor while another handles the configuration. This forces your system to reconcile competing requirements. If a proposed change violates your security policy, the auditor agent flags it before any action reaches the server.

Negotiate realm configurations

Use `list_auth_flows` as input for a multi-agent discussion. Your agents compare existing flows against new requirements to reach a safe, agreed-upon configuration. This reduces the risk of misconfiguration. By requiring consensus, you ensure that every change to your identity flow is scrutinized by different perspectives in your agent team.

Automate admin event monitoring

One agent monitors `list_admin_events` while another reports anomalies. They work together to maintain the health of your Keycloak instance. This creates a self-correcting security loop. Your agents identify suspicious patterns in real-time and decide whether to flag an admin or block a specific client automatically.

Setup guide

Set up Keycloak MCP in AutoGen

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • autogen-ext[mcp] package
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install AutoGen with MCP

    Run pip install "autogen-ext[mcp]" autogen-agentchat. The MCP extension includes mcp_server_tools for stateless tool access.

  2. 2

    Fetch tools from the MCP

    Call mcp_server_tools(SseServerParams(url=...)) with your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Run your agent

    Pass the tools to AssistantAgent and call agent.run(). The agent invokes Keycloak tools and returns structured results.

agent.py
from autogen_ext.tools.mcp import SseServerParams, mcp_server_tools
from autogen_agentchat.agents import AssistantAgent
from autogen_ext.models.openai import OpenAIChatCompletionClient

server_params = SseServerParams(
    url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
)

tools = await mcp_server_tools(server_params)

agent = AssistantAgent(
    name="Keycloak_assistant",
    model_client=OpenAIChatCompletionClient(model="gpt-4o"),
    tools=tools,
)

result = await agent.run("List recent Keycloak data")
print(result.messages[-1].content)

Common questions about Keycloak MCP in AutoGen

Yes. You can set up a group chat where agents propose changes via tools and verify them against your security rules before execution.
You pass the tool list to the AssistantAgent. The MCP adapter handles the conversion so your agents can invoke the tools as part of their discussion.
It works perfectly. AutoGen manages the conversation, and the MCP server provides the direct interface to your identity environment.
You can. By only exposing a subset of tools to your agents, you prevent them from accessing destructive functions like `delete_realm` in your production environment.
The data is kept within the ephemeral session created by the MCP server. It is never exposed to third-party services and only exists within your agent's memory.
