Manage roles via Google ADK

Map your enterprise permissions using `create_role` and `list_roles`. Your agents can now assign access based on business logic defined in your cloud functions. This keeps your IAM policies synced with your cloud infrastructure. You no longer need to jump between consoles to sync up permissions.

Automate group hierarchies

Structure your users using `create_group` and `update_group` tools. The agent organizes your directories by following your specific logical mapping. It makes managing nested structures straightforward. You query the hierarchy with `list_groups` to verify the state before making any changes.

Sync realms using Google ADK

Handle complex environment migrations by using `import_realm` and `partial_export_realm`. You can move settings between dev and prod environments with one command. It removes the risk of manual configuration drift. You get consistent environments across your Google Cloud stack.

Setup guide

Set up Keycloak MCP in Google ADK

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • google-adk package (pip install google-adk)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install Google ADK

    Run pip install google-adk to install the Agent Development Kit. MCP support is included via the McpToolset class.

  2. 2

    Connect via SSE transport

    Use McpToolset.from_server() with SseServerParams pointing to your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Create an LlmAgent

    Pass the returned mcp_tools list directly to LlmAgent(tools=mcp_tools). The ADK maps each MCP tool to a native Gemini function call — no manual schema definitions required.

  4. 4

    Run with any Gemini model

    The agent works with any Gemini model (gemini-2.0-flash, gemini-2.5-pro, etc.). Copy the full example on the right to get started with Keycloak tools in your ADK agent.

agent.py
from google.adk.agents import LlmAgent
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_toolset import McpToolset
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_session_manager import SseServerParams

# Connect to the MCP via SSE
mcp_tools, exit_stack = await McpToolset.from_server(
    connection_params=SseServerParams(
        url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
    )
)

# Create your agent with auto-discovered tools
agent = LlmAgent(
    name="Keycloak_agent",
    model="gemini-2.0-flash",
    instruction="You have access to Keycloak tools via MCP.",
    tools=mcp_tools,
)

Common questions about Keycloak MCP in Google ADK

It supports both Stdio and HTTP. Most Google ADK setups prefer the HTTP transport for better compatibility with containerized agents.
Yes. Use the tool_names filter to expose only the specific operations your agent needs, keeping the attack surface small.
The server runs in a sandbox. It only executes the tools you explicitly permit, ensuring your IAM data remains isolated.
Every tool call returns a clear response or error. Your agent can catch these and retry or log the issue to your dashboard.
It accesses realm-level admin data, including group memberships and role mappings. It does not store any sensitive user PII locally.
