How to Use the Klipfolio MCP in Windsurf
Give Windsurf direct access to your Klipfolio dashboards via this MCP Server and let Cascade update data sources autonomously.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Klipfolio MCP to Windsurf
Create your Vinkius account to connect Klipfolio to Windsurf and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Map your reporting stack with the MCP Server
Using the `list_dashboards` tool lets Cascade read your entire Klipfolio reporting structure. You ask for a summary of active metrics. Windsurf hits the API, finds the relevant boards, and pulls the exact layouts using `get_dashboard_details`. Instead of clicking through web menus, your agent builds a mental map of where your numbers live. It sees the widgets, understands the data flow, and reports back in seconds.
Force updates from the editor
Triggering raw data syncs right from the IDE happens via `refresh_data_source`. Stale metrics ruin reporting cycles. When you notice a discrepancy in a local database, tell Cascade to push an update to the cloud. The agent first runs `list_data_sources` to find the target connection. Then it fires the refresh command. Your charts update instantly without you ever opening a browser tab.
Manage agency sub-accounts
Managing dozens of sub-accounts is simple since `list_account_clients` exposes them all to your AI client. You need to know which client owns a specific chart. Cascade queries the account tree and maps the ownership automatically. Digging deeper requires precision. The `list_individual_klips` tool pulls out single widgets from any client account. You get the exact metric definition handed to you in the editor.
