Before drafting a contract, your agent needs to know where the templates live. It calls `list_workspaces` to map out your Knackly environments. Then it runs `list_catalogs` to find the specific category of documents you want to generate. You do not have to dig through folders manually. The MCP Server handles the routing, returning exactly which templates are active.

Inject data and assemble documents

Generating a document requires matching your variables against a template schema. Your client runs `list_data_models` to pull the exact fields required for a specific contract. Once you provide the details in chat, it executes `create_data_record`. This pushes the payload directly into Knackly. The platform evaluates the conditional logic and assembles the final file. You check the status by having the agent call `get_record_details`.

Track outputs and webhooks

You need to know if the document actually finished generating. Your agent uses `list_generated_documents` to pull a list of completed files tied to your recent requests. If you are setting up automation pipelines, you might want external systems to ping you when a file is ready. The `list_webhooks` tool lets Claude check which endpoints are currently listening for those completion events.

Set up Knackly MCP in Claude Web or Desktop

Open Claude Settings

Go to claude.ai, click your profile icon, then navigate to Customize → Connectors.

Add Custom Connector

Click the "+" button and select Add custom connector. Paste your Vinkius endpoint URL: https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com. For OAuth-protected servers, expand Advanced settings to add credentials.

Open Claude Desktop Settings

Click the menu icon at the top-left corner, go to Settings → Developer → Edit Config. This opens claude_desktop_config.json in your default text editor.

Paste the Knackly MCP configuration

Copy the JSON snippet on the right into the mcpServers object. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your endpoint token from cloud.vinkius.com.

Restart Claude Desktop

Close and reopen the application. Claude needs a full restart to load new MCPs — refreshing a conversation is not enough.

Verify the connection

Open a new conversation. Click the 🔌 icon at the bottom of the message input. You should see tools listed under knackly-mcp.
