Find What You Need in the KB

This tool lets you search your entire KnowledgeBase from your chat prompt. Use `search_help_center` to find specific articles by keyword. Once you have an ID, you can pull the full text with `get_article_content`. It’s good for quickly finding an answer without leaving your workflow. You can also get a bird's-eye view by listing all content with `list_kb_articles` or `list_kb_categories` to understand the structure of your help center.

Audit Your Help Center Content

Your agent can now act as a content auditor. This MCP Server gives it the tools to `list_kb_articles` and then loop through them using `get_article_content` to check for broken links, outdated terms, or style guide violations. You can even check for consistency across your documentation by pulling `list_kb_custom_fields` and `list_project_settings`. This gives your agent the context it needs to spot inconsistencies you might miss. It's a solid way to maintain quality.

Connect to This MCP Server in Seconds

If you're using the Claude Desktop app, you can install this as a local MCP server. It runs as a subprocess on your machine, so it's fast and private. For claude.ai in the browser, just paste the server URL into your custom connector settings. There's no install. Your agent gets the same tools either way, letting you manage KnowledgeOwl content directly.

Common questions about KnowledgeOwl MCP in Claude Desktop

Just ask your agent to `search_help_center` with a keyword. It will return a list of matching articles. You can then ask it to `get_article_content` using the ID of the article you're interested in.
Yes. The `list_kb_articles` tool gives your agent a complete list of every article. You can also use `list_kb_categories` to see how they're all organized.
Start by asking Claude Desktop to `list_kb_articles`. Then, instruct it to iterate through the list, get the content of each with `get_article_content`, and check for specific issues you define, like outdated product names.
Yes, connecting this MCP server works on all plans. For the web version, you use the custom connector feature. For the desktop app, you configure it as a local tool.
Your data is only passed between your client, this Vinkius-hosted MCP server, and the KnowledgeOwl API. The server only processes article content, category lists, and project settings when you invoke a tool. When using the local desktop extension, the connection is a subprocess on your own machine.
