Manage cases using AutoGen and the Lexzur MCP Server

This MCP Server lets you register Lexzur court tools like `list_litigation` and `create_matter` as AutoGen capabilities for multi-agent discussions. Your AutoGen legal and compliance agents debate the details of a Lexzur case before deciding to initiate a new trial record.

Automate billing audits via AutoGen consensus

This MCP Server connects AutoGen's conversational agents directly to Lexzur billing endpoints like `list_time_logs` and `list_invoices`. The AutoGen finance agent verifies the logged hours while the supervisor agent confirms the final Lexzur invoice amounts.

Coordinate complex corporate client onboarding

This MCP Server enables AutoGen agents to coordinate complex corporate onboarding by accessing Lexzur's `list_companies` and `list_tasks` endpoints. One AutoGen agent registers the company details while another coordinates the Lexzur task list to assign onboarding duties.

Setup guide

Set up Lexzur MCP in AutoGen

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • autogen-ext[mcp] package
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install AutoGen with MCP

    Run pip install "autogen-ext[mcp]" autogen-agentchat. The MCP extension includes mcp_server_tools for stateless tool access.

  2. 2

    Fetch tools from the MCP

    Call mcp_server_tools(SseServerParams(url=...)) with your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Run your agent

    Pass the tools to AssistantAgent and call agent.run(). The agent invokes Lexzur tools and returns structured results.

agent.py
from autogen_ext.tools.mcp import SseServerParams, mcp_server_tools
from autogen_agentchat.agents import AssistantAgent
from autogen_ext.models.openai import OpenAIChatCompletionClient

server_params = SseServerParams(
    url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
)

tools = await mcp_server_tools(server_params)

agent = AssistantAgent(
    name="Lexzur_assistant",
    model_client=OpenAIChatCompletionClient(model="gpt-4o"),
    tools=tools,
)

result = await agent.run("List recent Lexzur data")
print(result.messages[-1].content)

Common questions about Lexzur MCP in AutoGen

Use `mcp_server_tools` with your Lexzur server URL to fetch the tools, then pass the resulting list directly into your AutoGen `AssistantAgent` constructor.
Yes. You can set up an AutoGen group chat where agents use Lexzur's `list_tasks` and `list_contacts` to assign work and coordinate follow-ups.
The AutoGen agents debate the discrepancies in their chat. For example, if a Lexzur record from `get_matter` conflicts with a document in `list_documents`, they flag it for human review.
Yes. The AutoGen `McpToolAdapter` handles schema conversion automatically for both stdio and Streamable HTTP transports used by the Lexzur server.
Contact records pulled from Lexzur via `list_contacts` are held strictly in memory during the AutoGen agent conversation session and are destroyed immediately after execution.
