Localize code comments and strings in Cursor
The `translate_text` tool lets your agent translate hardcoded strings, markdown files, and inline code comments directly inside your active workspace. You don't have to break your coding flow to translate foreign-language comments in inherited codebases. Cursor calls the tool and rewrites the target files inline. By coupling this with `list_supported_languages`, the agent checks if your target language is supported before attempting to rewrite your files. This prevents syntax errors or broken files caused by unsupported translation targets.
Identify foreign text blocks automatically in your editor
The `detect_language` tool analyzes unknown text strings in your files to determine their source language. When you open a file containing non-English comments or user-facing strings, Cursor uses this tool to identify the language code instantly. This eliminates guesswork when refactoring legacy international projects. Your agent gets the exact language code and can immediately proceed with translation or localization tasks based on that metadata.
Verify your translation server status inside Cursor
The `check_api_status` tool monitors your translation endpoint directly from the editor's agent terminal using this MCP Server. Before running batch translations on massive localization files, Cursor checks this status to ensure the service is fully operational. This check saves development time by catching network or server configuration errors early. You avoid half-translated files and corrupted translation caches if your local container crashes.
