Shared compliance tools for VS Code Copilot
Ensure your entire engineering team respects open-source boundaries. By committing the MCP Server config to your repo, VS Code Copilot can use `check_software_license` to audit dependencies across everyone's local workspaces. This shared setup prevents compliance drift between developers. Every team member gets the same instant feedback on license risks directly in their Copilot Chat window.
On-demand legal metadata inspection
Developers are not lawyers, but they still need to respect software licenses. This server lets VS Code Copilot run `get_license_details` to pull clear, human-readable summaries of complex legal terms. Copilot presents these conditions directly in your sidebar, translating dense legal jargon into practical do's and don'ts for your current codebase.
Automated dependency audit preparation
Preparing for an enterprise software audit is usually a nightmare. Your agent can call `list_all_licenses` to map every active dependency against the official compliance database. This automated process helps you compile a clean, verified list of software licenses before pushing your code to production or submitting it to legal review.
