How to Use the Linear MCP in Cursor
Feed live issue details directly to Cursor Agent using this Linear MCP integration.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Linear MCP to Cursor
Create your Vinkius account to connect Linear to Cursor and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Code directly against active tickets
The `get_linear_issue` and `list_linear_issues` tools feed real ticket requirements straight into Cursor. Your editor reads the exact bug report or feature request as you write the fix. Developers save time because the AI agent knows the exact acceptance criteria. You don't copy-paste requirements from a browser tab into your source files.
Create tickets on the fly with Cursor
This MCP Server uses `create_linear_issue` to log technical debt the moment you spot it in your files. Cursor reads your current file context, drafts the ticket, and sends it to your tracker. You keep your flow state unbroken. The agent handles the administrative work of categorizing the task with `list_linear_labels` while you keep coding.
Link code changes to issue comments
Running `create_linear_comment` lets Cursor post code snippets and implementation details back to the active ticket. Your team sees your progress directly on the issue timeline. The agent uses `update_linear_issue` to mark the task as in-review or completed when you finish your changes. This keeps your project board accurate with zero manual updates.
