How to Use the LiveKit MCP in Windsurf
Use Windsurf to manage LiveKit rooms, trigger recordings, and handle SIP trunks without leaving your IDE's context.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect LiveKit MCP to Windsurf
Create your Vinkius account to connect LiveKit to Windsurf and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Full room control in Windsurf
Cascade handles room lifecycle management directly. You tell it to spin up a session, and it uses `create_room` to initialize the environment with your specific settings. Once active, the agent monitors status using `list_rooms`. It keeps your workspace synced with the actual state of your infrastructure.
Automated egress workflows
Stop worrying about manual recording triggers. Windsurf hooks into `start_room_composite_egress` or `start_track_composite_egress` to capture sessions based on your project requirements. When the meeting ends, the agent uses `stop_egress` to finalize the files. It handles the cleanup so you focus on the code.
SIP trunk management
Configure your inbound and outbound calling logic without touching a dashboard. The MCP Server lets you use `create_sip_inbound_trunk` to define how your project handles incoming calls. Cascade maps these calls to specific rooms via `create_sip_dispatch_rule`. It turns complex telecom routing into a simple background task.
