Index grid ranking data in LlamaIndex

This MCP Server exposes `get_scan_results` to retrieve coordinate-specific rankings across your target geographic area. LlamaIndex takes this raw data and indexes it into your vector database, turning coordinate tables into searchable knowledge. Instead of parsing raw JSON tables, your agent queries the index using natural language to find which neighborhoods have the worst visibility. The framework matches the query to the indexed scan data for precise answers.

Build RAG engines using Local Falcon data

Your LlamaIndex RAG application uses `get_trend_report` to retrieve historical local ranking changes. It combines this live API data with internal client briefs to generate context-rich optimization recommendations. By calling `get_scan_report` alongside your documents, the agent grounds its answers in actual Google Maps performance. This prevents the agent from hallucinating ranking trends or suggesting changes for the wrong zip codes.

Query and update tracking profiles via index

The agent uses `list_locations` and `list_keywords` to map out your current tracking setup. It indexes these profiles so you can ask which locations lack active tracking or which keywords need updates. When the agent finds a gap, it calls `add_location` or `add_keyword` to update your profile. You then trigger a new run with `run_scan` to start gathering data for the newly added coordinates immediately.

Setup guide

Set up Local Falcon MCP in LlamaIndex

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • llama-index-tools-mcp package
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install dependencies

    Run pip install llama-index-tools-mcp llama-index-llms-openai. The MCP tools package provides BasicMCPClient and McpToolSpec.

  2. 2

    Connect with BasicMCPClient

    Point BasicMCPClient to your Vinkius endpoint URL. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com. Supports SSE and Streamable HTTP transports.

  3. 3

    Convert to LlamaIndex tools

    Call mcp_tool_spec.to_tool_list_async() to convert all Local Falcon MCP tools into native FunctionTool objects that any LlamaIndex agent can use.

  4. 4

    Run with any LLM

    Create a FunctionAgent with the tools and your preferred LLM. Swap OpenAI for Anthropic, Gemini, or any LlamaIndex-supported provider.

agent.py
from llama_index.tools.mcp import BasicMCPClient, McpToolSpec
from llama_index.core.agent.workflow import FunctionAgent
from llama_index.llms.openai import OpenAI

# Connect to the MCP
mcp_client = BasicMCPClient(
    "https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
)
mcp_tool_spec = McpToolSpec(client=mcp_client)

# Convert MCP tools to LlamaIndex tools
tools = await mcp_tool_spec.to_tool_list_async()

# Create and run the agent
agent = FunctionAgent(
    tools=tools,
    llm=OpenAI(model="gpt-4o"),
    system_prompt="You have access to Local Falcon tools.",
)
response = await agent.run("List recent Local Falcon data")

Common questions about Local Falcon MCP in LlamaIndex

LlamaIndex uses McpToolSpec to load the `get_scan_results` tool. The output is converted into document nodes, which are then embedded and stored in your vector database for semantic retrieval.
Yes, you can configure your agent to pull data using `get_trend_report` and index the output. This lets you run queries like which locations dropped more than three spots this month against the stored index.
Your agent queries the indexed output of `list_locations` to find the correct location ID. Once identified, it passes that ID directly to `run_scan` to start the grid analysis using the MCP tool.
Yes, the MCP adapter reads the server schema and generates LlamaIndex-compatible tools. Your agent can call any of the 13 tools, including `check_localfalcon_status`, without manual schema writing.
Your API keys and location coordinates are transmitted over encrypted TLS connections directly to the Local Falcon API. The Vinkius MCP infrastructure runs each tool in a zero-trust, ephemeral container that destroys all session data immediately after execution.
