Specialized translation crews for Lokalise

Assign a researcher agent to `list_keys` and a writer agent to `add_translation`. They work together to ensure your localization files stay current without human intervention. Your crew handles the entire lifecycle of a string. From identifying missing keys to pushing final translations, the agents coordinate the work based on their roles.

Automated project monitoring

Use a monitor agent to keep an eye on project status using `get_project`. If it detects stale content, it triggers a workflow to fetch updates via `download_file`. This is autonomous operations at work. Your crew manages the health of your Lokalise projects so you can focus on shipping features instead of managing files.

Hierarchical translation workflows

Set up a manager agent to oversee `list_orders` and `list_team_members`. It delegates specific translation tasks to subordinate agents based on their capabilities. This keeps your operations organized. You get a clear audit trail of what your crew is doing inside your Lokalise account at any given moment.

Setup guide

Set up Lokalise MCP in CrewAI

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • crewai package (pip install crewai)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install CrewAI

    Run pip install crewai to install the framework. MCP support is built-in via the mcps parameter.

  2. 2

    Add the MCP URL to your agent

    Pass your Vinkius endpoint directly to the mcps list. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com. CrewAI handles tool discovery and caching automatically.

  3. 3

    Kick off your crew

    Create a Crew with your agent and tasks. Call crew.kickoff() — the agent will automatically invoke Lokalise tools as needed.

crew.py
from crewai import Agent, Task, Crew

agent = Agent(
    role="Lokalise Analyst",
    goal="Access and analyze Lokalise data via MCP.",
    backstory="Expert analyst with direct Lokalise access.",
    mcps=[
        "https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
    ],
)

task = Task(
    description="List recent Lokalise transactions",
    agent=agent,
    expected_output="A summary of recent activity",
)

crew = Crew(agents=[agent], tasks=[task])
result = crew.kickoff()
print(result)

Common questions about Lokalise MCP in CrewAI

You simply pass the server URL to the agents in your crew configuration. The agents will automatically discover and use the available tools.
Yes. By providing the `add_translation` and `update_key` tools, your agents can autonomously correct or add missing strings as they find them.
You can share the server across your crew. This allows agents to collaborate on the same project data using shared tools like `list_translations`.
Use the tool_filter option in the MCP server configuration. This ensures that only authorized agents can perform sensitive actions like updating keys.
The server only processes your project strings and translation metadata. Security is maintained through the managed Vinkius endpoint, and your sensitive project information remains isolated within your session.
