Debate Campaign Strategy

Pulling active marketing data relies on `list_marketing_campaigns` and `get_campaign_details`. Your AutoGen agents review this information before proposing new email blasts. A strategy agent suggests a target, while a risk agent pushes back on frequency. They negotiate based on the raw data until reaching a consensus on the next send.

Manage Segments via MCP Server

Modifying lists through the MCP Server uses `create_base_contact` and `add_contact_to_list`. The system updates your database only after the agents agree on the segmentation logic. One agent handles the raw database imports. Another verifies that the list assignments actually match your subscriber collections.

Evaluate Send Performance

Analyzing results requires `list_sent_history` and `get_campaign_click_data`. The framework pulls these numbers to evaluate the success of the previous blast. If the click rate drops, the performance agent flags the issue immediately. The team then debates whether to adjust the next `send_campaign_to_all` trigger.

Setup guide

Set up Mailsoftly MCP in AutoGen

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • autogen-ext[mcp] package
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install AutoGen with MCP

    Run pip install "autogen-ext[mcp]" autogen-agentchat. The MCP extension includes mcp_server_tools for stateless tool access.

  2. 2

    Fetch tools from the MCP

    Call mcp_server_tools(SseServerParams(url=...)) with your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Run your agent

    Pass the tools to AssistantAgent and call agent.run(). The agent invokes Mailsoftly tools and returns structured results.

agent.py
from autogen_ext.tools.mcp import SseServerParams, mcp_server_tools
from autogen_agentchat.agents import AssistantAgent
from autogen_ext.models.openai import OpenAIChatCompletionClient

server_params = SseServerParams(
    url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
)

tools = await mcp_server_tools(server_params)

agent = AssistantAgent(
    name="Mailsoftly_assistant",
    model_client=OpenAIChatCompletionClient(model="gpt-4o"),
    tools=tools,
)

result = await agent.run("List recent Mailsoftly data")
print(result.messages[-1].content)

Common questions about Mailsoftly MCP in AutoGen

Install autogen-ext[mcp]. Use mcp_server_tools with StreamableHttpServerParams to fetch the tools, then pass them to your AssistantAgent.
Yes. If given permission, they can call `send_campaign_to_all` after concluding their deliberation phase.
The McpToolAdapter converts schemas automatically. Agents read the tool outputs from the shared conversation history.
You define the exact tool list when initializing the server parameters, keeping destructive actions away from certain agents.
Raw emails, list IDs, and engagement metrics pass through an isolated sandbox. Authentication requires a single endpoint token, and Vinkius retains absolutely nothing after the agents conclude their session.
