Coordinate video audits with CrewAI agent teams

One agent can't manage an entire post-production pipeline alone. This MCP Server setup lets you set up a crew where a researcher agent uses `list_projects` and `list_folders` to map out your storage. A second agent analyzes the results by calling `get_project_assets` to spot duplicates or untagged videos. They work in parallel, sharing memory to avoid redundant API calls.

Automate review link monitoring and escalation

Keep your client feedback loops moving without constant supervision. A monitoring agent can check active shares using `list_quicklinks` and inspect details with `get_quicklink`. If a review link is set to expire soon, the agent can flag it or generate a fresh one. This keeps external reviewers from hitting dead ends.

Multi-agent search and metadata enrichment

Finding assets across multiple workspaces can slow down any editor. Use this MCP Server to let a coordinator agent search across folders using `search_assets` and `get_asset`. The coordinator passes the results to a writer agent, who compiles clean production reports. This handoff happens autonomously, keeping your team out of the folder weeds.

Setup guide

Set up MediaSilo MCP in CrewAI

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • crewai package (pip install crewai)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install CrewAI

    Run pip install crewai to install the framework. MCP support is built-in via the mcps parameter.

  2. 2

    Add the MCP URL to your agent

    Pass your Vinkius endpoint directly to the mcps list. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com. CrewAI handles tool discovery and caching automatically.

  3. 3

    Kick off your crew

    Create a Crew with your agent and tasks. Call crew.kickoff() — the agent will automatically invoke MediaSilo tools as needed.

crew.py
from crewai import Agent, Task, Crew

agent = Agent(
    role="MediaSilo Analyst",
    goal="Access and analyze MediaSilo data via MCP.",
    backstory="Expert analyst with direct MediaSilo access.",
    mcps=[
        "https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
    ],
)

task = Task(
    description="List recent MediaSilo transactions",
    agent=agent,
    expected_output="A summary of recent activity",
)

crew = Crew(agents=[agent], tasks=[task])
result = crew.kickoff()
print(result)

Common questions about MediaSilo MCP in CrewAI

They use shared memory. When one agent finds a project using `list_projects`, other agents in the crew instantly access that project ID to call `get_project_assets`.
Yes. You can use the `tool_filter` option with `MCPServerHTTP` to restrict an agent to harmless read tools like `list_assets` while blocking access to user management.
Pass the server URL directly into your Agent's `mcps` array parameter. The framework handles the connection and exposes the asset management tools to the crew.
Direct your agent to use `list_folders` first to narrow the scope. This prevents the crew from hitting token limits by pulling thousands of assets via `list_assets` all at once.
All API calls run through a secure endpoint token inside an ephemeral MCP sandbox. Your raw video files, user emails, and folder trees are never stored or exposed to external networks.
