How to Use the Mod.io MCP in Google ADK
Connect your Google ADK agents to game data and manage mod libraries on the fly.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Mod.io MCP to Google ADK
Create your Vinkius account to connect Mod.io to Google ADK and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Deep integration with Google ADK
Bridge your cloud data to game content. Use `get_games` to map your existing datasets to available titles on the platform. Your agents can now reason over massive mod lists. This works natively within the Gemini ecosystem, keeping your workflows unified.
Manage subscriptions inside Google ADK
The `subscribe_mod` and `unsubscribe_mod` tools allow your agent to maintain user states. It tracks what's installed without manual intervention. Think of it as a background task for your cloud agents. They pull the latest `get_my_subscriptions` list whenever the state changes.
Analyze game stats with Google ADK
Fetch performance data using `get_game_stats`. This helps your agents make informed decisions about which mods to promote. Everything stays inside your infrastructure. You get the raw data from `get_mod_files` directly into your agent's context window.

-
google-adkpackage (pip install google-adk) - Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
- 1
Install Google ADK
Run
pip install google-adkto install the Agent Development Kit. MCP support is included via theMcpToolsetclass. - 2
Connect via SSE transport
Use
McpToolset.from_server()withSseServerParamspointing to your Vinkius endpoint. Replace[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]with your token from cloud.vinkius.com. - 3
Create an LlmAgent
Pass the returned
mcp_toolslist directly toLlmAgent(tools=mcp_tools). The ADK maps each MCP tool to a native Gemini function call — no manual schema definitions required. - 4
Run with any Gemini model
The agent works with any Gemini model (
gemini-2.0-flash,gemini-2.5-pro, etc.). Copy the full example on the right to get started with Mod.io tools in your ADK agent.
from google.adk.agents import LlmAgent

from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_session_manager import SseServerParams
# Connect to the MCP via SSE
mcp_tools, exit_stack = await McpToolset.from_server(
connection_params=SseServerParams(
url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"

# Create your agent with auto-discovered tools
agent = LlmAgent(
name="Mod.io_agent",
model="gemini-2.0-flash",
instruction="You have access to Mod.io tools via MCP.",
