How to Use the Namecheap MCP in Cursor
Query live DNS records and check domain availability right inside Cursor.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Namecheap MCP to Cursor
Create your Vinkius account to connect Namecheap to Cursor and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Inject live DNS context into code
The `get_dns_hosts` tool pulls your live Namecheap zone files straight into your Cursor workspace via the MCP Server. When you write a deployment script, your agent reads the actual A and TXT records currently active on your domain. You stop guessing if the DNS propagation worked. Cursor checks the exact state of the registrar using `get_dns_servers` and `get_domain_ns_info`, letting you write routing logic based on hard data instead of cached assumptions.
Search domains while building
Use `check_domain_availability` to query Namecheap for available domains while you code your next project. Your AI client pulls the premium status and exact pricing in USD. Before you write the script to purchase it, Cursor calls `get_balance` to verify your account has the funds. You handle the entire discovery and budgeting phase without leaving your editor.
Automate SSL monitoring
Run `get_ssl_certs` to feed your current certificate expiration dates into your monitoring scripts. Cursor reads the exact activation status directly from the API. If you are writing a cron job to alert on expiring certs, your agent uses `get_ssl_info` to structure the API response perfectly. You get working code because the AI sees the real JSON payload.
