Automate Your Deploy Pipeline

This toolset is built for automation, not for GUIs. Connect Claude Code and start scripting your Netlify operations. After your CI tests pass, have a script call Claude Code to run `trigger_build`. You can then use `get_deploy` in a loop to poll for completion status. Pipe the output to a log file or a notification service. It's all just text, ready for your existing shell scripts.

Write Headless Monitoring Scripts

You need to know when a build fails. Don't wait for an email. Write a simple bash script and run it on a cron job. Have Claude Code use `list_sites` and `list_builds` to check for failed builds every five minutes. If it finds one, pipe the site ID and build log to your own alerting script. You control the whole process.

Netlify Control for Claude Code

You're SSH'd into a production box and need to check something on Netlify. No need to find a browser. Just run Claude Code with a prompt to `list_form_submissions` for a specific site ID. You can pipe the resulting JSON directly to `jq` to filter for exactly what you need. This Netlify MCP Server makes your terminal a first-class Netlify client.

Common questions about Netlify MCP in Claude Code

First, add the MCP server to your Claude Code config. Then, in your pipeline script (like a GitHub Action), you can invoke Claude Code with prompts like `claude code "trigger a new build for site-id-123"`. The output can be used in subsequent steps.
Yes. Claude Code is a command-line tool, so its output can be treated as standard streams. You can ask it to get data, and then pipe that output directly to tools like `jq` for filtering or `grep` for searching.
Use the `list_sites` tool. Just run `claude code "list all my netlify sites"`. It will return a list of all your sites and their IDs from the MCP server, which you can then use in other commands.
The server itself doesn't add extra rate limits, but you are still subject to the standard Netlify API rate limits. Because this MCP integration makes scripting so easy, be mindful of how often your cron jobs or scripts are hitting the API.
This server accesses your Netlify site configurations and form submission data via your API key. Vinkius ensures each request is sandboxed and torn down immediately after. Data is never logged or stored; it's passed from Netlify's API directly to your terminal's standard output.
