How to Use the Nextcloud MCP in Cursor
Edit code and manage your Nextcloud instance directly inside Cursor.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Nextcloud MCP to Cursor
Create your Vinkius account to connect Nextcloud to Cursor and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Read and write Nextcloud files from Cursor
Directory structures are read using the `list_files` tool to give Cursor direct WebDAV access. This lets the editor pull configuration files or code snippets directly into your workspace. When your agent generates new assets, it uses `create_folder` and writes files directly to your storage. You avoid manual drag-and-drop operations entirely.
Generate app passwords inside your editor
Generating dedicated API tokens happens via the `get_app_password` tool without exposing your master password. Cursor uses this to establish secure, isolated connections to your instance. If a credential is compromised or no longer needed, `delete_app_password` revokes it instantly. This keeps your external script access clean and secure.
Manage sharing permissions using this MCP Server
With the `create_share` tool, Cursor sets up user, group, or public link shares directly from your chat. It handles various share types including federated and email shares. You can change permissions on existing shares using `update_share` or remove them completely with `delete_share`. This makes managing collaborative assets a quick, keyboard-driven process.
