How to Use the NotCo MCP in Windsurf
Use Giuseppe AI inside Windsurf to build plant-based recipes and analyze molecular profiles without leaving your editor.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect NotCo MCP to Windsurf
Create your Vinkius account to connect NotCo to Windsurf and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Chain R&D tasks automatically
Windsurf Cascade reads your goal and runs multi-step sequences to generate new formulations. You define the target, and it calls `create_project` followed by `create_formulation` to build the recipe. It handles the logic between tools so you don't have to manually prompt every step. The agent observes the output of `analyze_nutrition` and adjusts parameters to meet your constraints.
Instant ingredient molecular lookups
Query the NotCo database directly from your code workspace to pull exact chemical structures. Use `get_ingredient` to pull data for specific proteins and fats. Windsurf displays these profiles in your context window immediately. You can cross-reference these with `search_flavor_matches` to see which plant combinations actually mimic dairy or meat.
Validate sensory profiles in the IDE
Run simulated taste tests on your current recipe iterations without needing a lab. The agent executes `run_sensory_test` and reports back the elasticity and flavor scores. This MCP Server provides the data you need to iterate fast. You see the results in your chat panel, allowing for real-time tweaks to your formulation strategy.
Set up NotCo MCP in Windsurf
Prerequisites
- Windsurf IDE installed (macOS, Windows, or Linux)
- Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
- 1
Open MCP configuration
Click the Cascade assistant icon in the sidebar, then click the hammer icon (🔨) at the top of the panel. Select "Configure" to open
~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json. - 2
Add the NotCo MCP
Paste the JSON snippet shown on the right into the
mcpServersobject. Replace[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]with your endpoint token from cloud.vinkius.com. - 3
Refresh MCPs
Go back to the hammer icon (🔨) in Cascade and click "Refresh". Windsurf will detect the new server. No full restart is needed — the connection is hot-reloaded.
- 4
Verify in Cascade
Start a new Cascade conversation and ask something like "Show my NotCo payment history." If connected, Cascade will call the NotCo tools directly. You will see a green dot next to the server name in the MCP panel.
