Connect Notesnook (Private Note Taking & E2EE) MCP to Claude Desktop
Create your Vinkius account to connect Notesnook (Private Note Taking & E2EE) to Claude Desktop and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Explore your secure vaults in Claude Desktop
Claude Desktop reads your encrypted vault structure without exposing raw text to external servers. By running `list_notebooks` and `list_notes`, your local agent maps out your notebook hierarchy and locates specific note IDs. This gives Claude Desktop the layout of your private folders. Once the agent identifies the target node, it calls `get_note` to get the encrypted cipher payload for decryption in your local environment.
Create and update private notes via MCP Server
You can write new entries or modify existing ones directly inside your chat window. The server uses `create_note` to push plaintext into a secure envelope, storing it safely on the sync server. When you edit a draft, your agent triggers `update_note` to modify partial strings and force re-encryption. This ensures your updates are committed to the secure database without leaks.
Keep your local vault in perfect sync
Keep your offline database updated during active chat sessions. The server uses `sync_items` to pull down encrypted binary objects based on your latest timestamp boundaries. Claude Desktop manages this synchronization in the background. It resolves state conflicts and updates your local files while keeping your private keys isolated on your machine.
