Key Capabilities

Manage Directory and Contacts

Set up your project's communication layer by listing available contacts. Use `list_phone_destinations()` to grab all internal extensions into a configuration file. You can also see what faxes are logged with `list_faxes`.

Execute Messaging Tasks

Copilot Chat lets the team execute messaging functions directly in the IDE context. Use `send_sms(recipient, message)` to write code that sends a text notification. You can also retrieve previous messages via `get_sms_messages`.

Simulate Calling Routines

Need to model a call sequence? The team uses `send_call()` in their unit tests, simulating the connection process. To complete the flow, they can write code that calls `hangup_call()`, ensuring cleanup is always handled.

Setup guide

Set up Telebroad MCP in VS Code Copilot

Prerequisites

  • VS Code 1.99 or later with GitHub Copilot extension
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Open MCP configuration

Open the Command Palette (Cmd+Shift+P / Ctrl+Shift+P) and run "MCP: Add Server". Select HTTP (Streamable) as the server type. VS Code will create .vscode/mcp.json in your workspace.

  2. 2

    Add the Telebroad MCP

Paste the JSON snippet shown on the right into your .vscode/mcp.json. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your endpoint token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Switch to Agent mode

Open Copilot Chat (Cmd+Shift+I / Ctrl+Shift+I) and switch to Agent mode using the dropdown. MCP tools are only available in Agent mode — they do not appear in Edit or Ask modes.

  4. 4

    Verify the connection

In the Copilot Chat input, type # to list available tools. You should see the Telebroad tools listed. Try asking: "List my recent Telebroad transactions" and Copilot will invoke them automatically.

Common questions about Telebroad MCP in VS Code Copilot

You integrate the tool by calling `list_call_history()` within your test suite. The resulting data can then be mocked or used to assert expected outcomes in your code tests.
Yes, you write a function that calls `send_sms(recipient, message)`. This makes the messaging capability part of the shared team codebase, ensuring consistency.
The tool uses `list_phone_destinations()` to pull the full list of extensions. This data populates a central resource file that every developer on the team can access and reference.
You use `list_active_calls()` in your diagnostics script. This allows you to write checks that ensure no unexpected calls are running when the system should be idle.
The server touches user profiles using `get_profile()`, which provides identity information. It also processes call logs and SMS content, making these strings available for team review.
