Updating Timelines in Code

Need to automatically update a task's status after a build passes? You can use `update_timeline_task` and inject that data directly into your code block. The MCP Server handles the JSON object structure, giving you real-time context without leaving Cursor.

Retrieving Project Context for Coding

Building a feature? First, check project parameters by calling `get_project_details`. You might also need to know what tags are in use; the `list_workspace_tags` tool retrieves those category names instantly, so you can code against live data.

Listing Users and Resources

When your code needs to check permissions or assign ownership, run `list_workspace_users`. This pulls a list of all users with access to the workspace. You'll also need `list_workspace_ids` if you want to scope your API calls correctly.

Common questions about Toggl Plan MCP in Cursor

In Agent mode, the AI uses the MCP tools directly. You write a comment telling it what you need—like getting task details using `get_task_details`—and the agent calls the tool and injects the live data into your code.
The server handles project IDs, workspace IDs, task names, and user access lists. This allows you to write highly specific functions that rely on live team context.
Yes. The `delete_timeline_task` action permanently removes a task from the timeline. Be sure your agent has reviewed the request before committing to that function call.
You can absolutely do this. The `list_timeline_tasks` tool requires just a workspace ID, and the agent will pull every task into your active coding session.
You'll use `list_workspace_projects`. This tells you every project ID available within the workspace, which is crucial for ensuring your code targets the right scope.
