Automate Video and Image Processing

You tell Windsurf your goal—say, 'resize all images in this folder and encode the video.' It reads that context and plans a multi-step sequence using `create_assembly`. You just set the target; Cascade handles the whole pipeline execution. Once the assembly finishes, you use `get_assembly_details` to check the status or pull results. Need to fix something? Use `replay_assembly` to re-run it without rebuilding the template.

Manage Processing Templates

Setting up a new pipeline is easy with Windsurf. You call `create_processing_template`, giving it a name and the steps JSON. This saves complex workflows for later use, so you don't have to rebuild them every time. Later on, if that template is garbage, just run `delete_template`. It's final, but it keeps your workspace clean.

Track Usage and Billing

Need to know how much media processing ate up this month? Running `get_billing_usage` takes a YYYY-MM format and spits out your usage costs. It's crucial for keeping overhead in check. Tracking is also key when you list recent runs using `list_assemblies`. That gives you a quick overview of what Transloadit was doing across the account.

Setup guide

Set up Transloadit MCP in Windsurf

Prerequisites

  • Windsurf IDE installed (macOS, Windows, or Linux)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Open MCP configuration

Click the Cascade assistant icon in the sidebar, then click the hammer icon (🔨) at the top of the panel. Select "Configure" to open ~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json.

  2. 2

    Add the Transloadit MCP

Paste the JSON snippet shown on the right into the mcpServers object. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your endpoint token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Refresh MCPs

Go back to the hammer icon (🔨) in Cascade and click "Refresh". Windsurf will detect the new server. No full restart is needed — the connection is hot-reloaded.

  4. 4

    Verify in Cascade

Start a new Cascade conversation and ask something like "Show my Transloadit payment history." If connected, Cascade will call the Transloadit tools directly. You will see a green dot next to the server name in the MCP panel.
