Script location discovery workflows.

You build a shell script that needs to find all attractions near a given set of coordinates. Running `get_nearby_locations` via Claude Code pipes the resulting IDs into your next command. This makes it ideal for CI/CD pipelines where you need to validate resource existence without manual intervention.

Extract and process POI data in scripts.

Need a nightly report of hotel ratings? Your script executes `search_location` for 'hotels' across multiple regions. The output is clean, structured JSON piped directly to another utility for formatting. You get the raw list of names and addresses, which you can then feed into other system commands.

Automate review data collection in CI/CD.

For testing content integrity, your script calls `get_location_reviews` for a specific ID. The output is streamed to standard out (`stdout`). You can then use shell tools like `grep` or `jq` on this stream to count the number of reviews or extract only the star rating data.

Common questions about TripAdvisor MCP in Claude Code

You write a command that invokes the MCP Server's `search_location` tool. You pass arguments like 'restaurant' and the target city, and the results stream out to your terminal.
Yes. Your script calls `get_location_details`, passing an ID as an argument. The entire data payload—including all POI information—is returned to standard output for immediate piping.
The script invokes `get_location_photos` using a known ID. The tool executes headless and outputs the necessary metadata structure that your shell script can then read and process.
It handles POI details, including names, addresses, ratings, and review content. The output is structured JSON, perfect for piping into other command-line tools or scripts.
Run a script that calls `get_nearby_locations`, providing the precise geographic coordinates. This method returns a list of candidates' IDs, which you can then process in subsequent steps.
