Managing Data for End-to-End Testing
When testing a component, the `get` tool lets you pull live data from specific keys. To verify that your changes haven't broken anything, use `ping` to confirm connectivity first. You should also check the key metadata using `get_key_info` before writing any logic against it. If your test requires temporary state management, you can write code that uses `set`, specifying an expiry time so the data cleans itself up after the run.
Tracking Build Status with Cline's MCP Server
For build pipelines, tracking counts is essential. The `increment` tool lets you manage numeric counters at a key—perfect for counting successful builds or failed tests. You can also use it to decrement the count if a step fails. If the data needs to be cleared after a job finishes, `delete` accepts a list of keys so your script can clean up reliably.
Inspecting Data Structures via Cline
Don't assume you know all available keys. Use `list_keys` to scan for patterns and map out what data exists in the database before writing a query. Remember, avoid using broad wildcards (`*`) on large sets of keys. Need to remove old test fixtures? The `delete` tool handles removing one or more keys after the testing process completes.
