Capture and analyze web data autonomously.

Assign a research agent to use `capture_pdf` or `capture_png`. The agent gets the raw file, analyzes it, and passes the findings (the captured text) to an analysis agent. This collaborative approach is much smarter than single-agent calls. If the initial scrape fails, another specialized agent can check the system status using `get_render_status` before escalating the issue.

Manage complex asynchronous data fetching.

For deep research, use a dedicated action agent with `render_async`. This tool sends results via webhooks, so your crew doesn't freeze up waiting for the content. The monitoring agent watches this status. Need to capture specific details? An action agent can target elements using `render_selector` and pass only that clean data to the next specialist.

Validate resources before taking action.

Before an agent sends out a report, it should check its boundaries. The crew can use `get_credit_usage` to ensure there's budget for the task. Another agent might list available proxies using `list_proxies` to guarantee access. Finally, the moderator agent uses `get_account_info` to validate that all required credentials are up-to-date before the operation begins.

Setup guide

Set up Urlbox MCP in CrewAI

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • crewai package (pip install crewai)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install CrewAI

    Run pip install crewai to install the framework. MCP support is built-in via the mcps parameter.

  2. 2

    Add the MCP URL to your agent

    Pass your Vinkius endpoint directly to the mcps list. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com. CrewAI handles tool discovery and caching automatically.

  3. 3

    Kick off your crew

    Create a Crew with your agent and tasks. Call crew.kickoff() — the agent will automatically invoke Urlbox tools as needed.

crew.py
from crewai import Agent, Task, Crew

agent = Agent(
    role="Urlbox Analyst",
    goal="Access and analyze Urlbox data via MCP.",
    backstory="Expert analyst with direct Urlbox access.",
    mcps=[
        "https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
    ],
)

task = Task(
    description="List recent Urlbox transactions",
    agent=agent,
    expected_output="A summary of recent activity",
)

crew = Crew(agents=[agent], tasks=[task])
result = crew.kickoff()
print(result)

Common questions about Urlbox MCP in CrewAI

You pass the available tools, like `capture_pdf` and `render_selector`, directly to your Agent definition. The specialized agents then decide which tool to use based on their assigned roles.
The server provides web content (images, PDFs) and system metadata (account info, usage stats). The power is how different agents process and interpret these diverse data types collaboratively.
Yes. You can set up a cycle where Agent A checks the status using `get_render_status`, passes that information, and Agent B acts on it or escalates it.
It supports both synchronous (`render_sync`) for quick checks and asynchronous (`render_async`) jobs. The crew can decide which method is best suited for the task at hand.
The server touches URL content, account profiles, and usage statistics. These are all critical data types that your specialized agents can read from and write to the shared memory.
