Autonomous Research and Context Gathering

An agent can be assigned the role of Researcher. It runs `list_forums` to map out all available discussion areas, then uses `search` to gather initial context from those forums. This allows a whole crew to build up shared memory about the topic.

Moderating and Acting on Content

A dedicated Moderator agent can be tasked with action. It first checks if a thread exists using `list_threads`. If not, it uses `create_thread` to start one, or if context requires it, adds content via `create_reply`.

Monitoring and Status Reporting

A Monitor agent watches the overall session. It can check user details using `get_user` or list all available groups with `list_groups`. This gives the entire crew real-time visibility into the community's structure.

Setup guide

Set up Verint Community MCP in CrewAI

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • crewai package (pip install crewai)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install CrewAI

    Run pip install crewai to install the framework. MCP support is built-in via the mcps parameter.

  2. 2

    Add the MCP URL to your agent

    Pass your Vinkius endpoint directly to the mcps list. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com. CrewAI handles tool discovery and caching automatically.

  3. 3

    Kick off your crew

    Create a Crew with your agent and tasks. Call crew.kickoff() — the agent will automatically invoke Verint Community tools as needed.

crew.py
from crewai import Agent, Task, Crew

agent = Agent(
    role="Verint Community Analyst",
    goal="Access and analyze Verint Community data via MCP.",
    backstory="Expert analyst with direct Verint Community access.",
    mcps=[
        "https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
    ],
)

task = Task(
    description="List recent Verint Community transactions",
    agent=agent,
    expected_output="A summary of recent activity",
)

crew = Crew(agents=[agent], tasks=[task])
result = crew.kickoff()
print(result)

Common questions about Verint Community MCP in CrewAI

The Research agent runs `list_forums` first to identify all possible sources. Then, it uses the `search` tool on those forums, building up a comprehensive knowledge base for the rest of the team.
You'll assign a writer agent to handle this. It uses `create_thread` if nothing exists, or it uses `create_reply` when responding within an existing conversation.
Absolutely. You give a dedicated Monitor agent the role of checking groups using the `list_groups` tool. This keeps track of who belongs where without constant human oversight.
The system uses the `get_user` tool, allowing a specialized agent to fetch and analyze specific member data. This information feeds directly into subsequent analysis steps.
The server touches structural community data, specifically the names, IDs, and membership lists associated with a given group, accessed via `get_group`.
