Code Checkout Logic with the MCP Server
Need to write a function that calculates final costs? The `simulate_order` tool lets you fetch accurate shipping and tax rates directly into your code block. This means your API calls use live numbers. Want to test discount logic? Call `add_coupon`. Your agent will get the updated cart total, which you can then pass as a variable to complete your checkout function.
Manage Customer Data in Code
When writing code that interacts with customer accounts, start by calling `get_client_profile`. This retrieves necessary fields—like email or billing address—so you don't have to hardcode them into your project. If the user needs a new saved location, use `create_address` and inject the resulting data structure directly into your code's database write function.
Simulate Payment Flow with Cursor
Before committing to an API endpoint that processes payments, run `simulate_payment`. This checks card validity against VTEX rules and returns a success/failure object you can handle in your code. Pair this up by first calling `get_orderform` to ensure the order details haven't changed since the cart was initially created. It keeps your logic airtight.
