Connect WakaTime (Coding Stats) MCP to Cursor
Create your Vinkius account to connect WakaTime (Coding Stats) to Cursor and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Contextual Coding Stats in the Editor
The `get_stats` tool pulls current productivity metrics and makes them available to your agent. Instead of getting a static report, the AI uses this data live while you're writing code. This means when the AI suggests a change, it can reference real numbers—like how long you spent on related commits using `list_commits`—making its suggestions way more accurate.
Syncing External Time into Cursor
Coding doesn't always happen inside the editor. If you work on a separate service or app, use `create_external_duration`. This logs that time so your project stats stay accurate. It also helps pull data from external sources via `list_external_durations`, making sure every hour counts toward your goal.
Reviewing Project Scope and Goals
Keep an eye on your targets with the server's ability to list goals (`list_goals`). You can see what you're close to hitting, right in your coding context. Furthermore, `list_projects` gives you a clean rundown of every project detected. This is great for making sure you're focused on the right area while writing.
