Debating Agent Deployment Strategy

Set up a debate where one agent reviews the list of all agents using `list_agents`. A second agent then uses `create_agent` to propose deployment steps. The third challenges both on resource constraints, leading to a consensus plan. AutoGen forces these competing perspectives to negotiate the final action.

Automated Incident Response Simulation

Simulate an incident by having one agent run `get_logtest` against suspicious logs. A second agent then reviews the result and suggests a fix, maybe using `update_rule_file`. The third verifies if the rule update is necessary or overreaching. This cycle models complex decision-making processes.

Coordinated System Upgrade Planning

Multiple agents work together to upgrade components. One agent checks current status with `get_manager_status`. A second plans the rollout using `upgrade_agents`, while a third recommends a rollback plan based on historical data from the MCP Server. The result is a consensus-driven, risk-assessed deployment strategy.

Setup guide

Set up Wazuh (SIEM) MCP in AutoGen

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • autogen-ext[mcp] package
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install AutoGen with MCP

    Run pip install "autogen-ext[mcp]" autogen-agentchat. The MCP extension includes mcp_server_tools for stateless tool access.

  2. 2

    Fetch tools from the MCP

    Call mcp_server_tools(SseServerParams(url=...)) with your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Run your agent

    Pass the tools to AssistantAgent and call agent.run(). The agent invokes Wazuh (SIEM) tools and returns structured results.

agent.py
from autogen_ext.tools.mcp import SseServerParams, mcp_server_tools
from autogen_agentchat.agents import AssistantAgent
from autogen_ext.models.openai import OpenAIChatCompletionClient

server_params = SseServerParams(
    url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
)

tools = await mcp_server_tools(server_params)

agent = AssistantAgent(
    name="Wazuh (SIEM)_assistant",
    model_client=OpenAIChatCompletionClient(model="gpt-4o"),
    tools=tools,
)

result = await agent.run("List recent Wazuh (SIEM) data")
print(result.messages[-1].content)

Common questions about Wazuh (SIEM) MCP in AutoGen

It moves beyond simple automation. Instead of executing one command, multiple agents debate the best sequence of commands—like when to use `restart_cluster` versus just updating a config file.
Yes. You can set up agents to debate the necessity and scope of new user accounts by running the `create_security_role` tool, requiring multiple confirmations before execution.
Absolutely. Since it's built on multi-agent conversation, you can design a workflow where one agent collects data (`get_syscollector`), another analyzes it, and the third proposes an action based on that analysis.
The framework passes tool schemas to specialized agents. Agents then write code or natural language calls to invoke these tools, ensuring every interaction is defined and traceable.
This MCP Server touches configuration settings and agent status. The debate process requires the agents to discuss potentially sensitive structural details like user accounts (`list_security_users`) or cluster node names.
