Scheduling Wiki.js Content Generation

Treat the wiki like a scheduled service endpoint. You can write a cron job that calls `list_pages` to find all articles missing required tags, and then uses `get_page` content as input for an external transformation script. This lets you automate documentation auditing without needing a graphical interface.

Bulk Page Management via MCP Server

Run cleanup scripts across your entire documentation set. You can combine `search_pages` to find all old versions of an API guide, and then use `delete_page` in a shell script loop to remove them en masse. Claude Code ensures this runs headless, perfect for GitHub Actions or Docker containers.

Programmatic Wiki.js Page Creation

When a new microservice launches, you need docs immediately. Write a script that takes the service name and automatically executes `create_page` to generate the stub article in the correct location. It’s pure shell scripting—no UI, just reliable output for your CI/CD pipeline.

Common questions about Wiki.js MCP in Claude Code

You execute the `search_pages` tool directly from the terminal script, passing criteria as arguments. The output is piped to standard out (stdout) for subsequent processing in your shell pipeline.
Yes. You can write a script that fetches content via `get_page`, modifies it using standard shell tools, and then commits the changes back to Wiki.js using `update_page`.
You run a simple command invoking `list_pages`. This provides a clean, machine-readable JSON output listing every path on your Wiki.js instance for auditing.
This server only accesses the document content and metadata (text strings, paths). The scripts run in a contained terminal environment and never touch user credentials or network secrets.
You chain commands: first `list_pages` to check existence, then use conditional logic (like `if/then`) around a call to `create_page` or `update_page`, all within one robust shell script.
