Automating Documentation Updates with MCP Server
Cline treats the wiki like another API endpoint you can write against in code. You can build a script that first runs `list_pages` to identify all old documentation files, then uses `get_page` to pull their content into a variable. From there, Cline's agent writes the necessary logic to rewrite and commit changes using `update_page`, giving you a perfect diff ready for review.
Generating New Wiki.js Content
When your product changes, documentation needs updating. You can write a function that takes structured data (like an endpoint list) and uses `create_page` to generate entire new wiki articles from it. It's pure code, no GUI required. This means you don’t have to manually copy/paste content; Cline handles the whole generation and commit process.
Searching and Deleting Wiki.js Pages
Need to prune old docs? You can write a short script that uses `search_pages` to locate pages tagged 'deprecated'. After running the search, you can pipe those results into a loop that executes `delete_page`. It's all one cohesive task. Cline guarantees end-to-end execution; it doesn't stop when the first function finishes.
